Activities

St. Mary has a wide range of activities, both spiritual and social, and would hope to be able to provide something you will be interested in. Listed below are some details of the various activities available at the Church.

Prayer and Spiritual Development

  • Home Groups meet fortnightly during the day and on various nights of the week, for fellowship and bible study. Groups change from time to time, but are very mixed in ages and sexes and in knowledge and Christian experience.
  • Prayer Group meets every Wednesday to pray for the needs of individuals and the parish as well as the wider Church and the world.
  • Alpha courses are run on a regular basis for those seeking an introduction to, or exploration of, the Christian faith.

Baptism, Confirmation, Weddings and Funerals
The Curate would be pleased to discuss baptism, confirmation, weddings and funerals with anyone resident in the parish or who lives outside the parish and regularly worships at St Mary, Kippington.

Pastoral Care
At present, the Curate leads a team that carries out a visiting programme to support anyone in the community that require their presence for whatever reason. The Vicar is always happy to take Holy Communion to those who are housebound. The team holds a regular Holy Communion at Kippington Nursing Home.

Choirs
The Main Choir sings at most 10.30 am services and is augmented by the Family Choir for the Family Service on the 2nd Sunday of each month.

Social Activities
The Church has a programme of social activities and events relevant to the church calendar, including the Church Birthday celebrations in June, Harvest Festival, a Lunch Club, outings and various activities such as Barn Dances and the triennial Christmas Fair.
